Job Overview

A growing commercial lending firm in Flatbush is seeking a Controller to oversee the commercial loan portfolio. This is a newly created role due to company growth. You will work closely with and train under the current controller to become the primary finance lead for the commercial division. The firm offers a supportive environment, strong leadership, and the opportunity to take ownership of a growing financial operation.

Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
• Track profit and loss for individual loans
• Monitor loan origination, funding, servicing, and loan sales
• Record and analyze gain/loss on loan sales
• Track bad debt and loan performance
• Maintain accurate financial records and reporting
• Work closely with the CFO and finance team
• Assist with improving accounting processes as the company grows

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2–5+ years of accounting experience (finance, lending, or real estate preferred)
• Strong Excel skills
• Understanding of financial reporting and loan accounting
• Ability to manage multiple financial workflows
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Experience with accounting software preferred (training will be provided)
