Role Overview

The Controller is responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, nonprofit compliance, and strong financial controls. This role works closely with leadership to support One Israel Fund’s mission through effective financial management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial records in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards
  • Manage and optimize QuickBooks, including coding and reconciliation
  • Integrate QuickBooks with DonorPerfect CRM and manage ongoing reconciliations
  • Prepare financial reports, budgets, and donor-related reporting
  • Process wires, checks, and expense documentation; maintain audit-ready records
  • Support annual audits and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Monitor cash flow, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Provide financial insights to executive leadership and trustees

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Proven nonprofit accounting experience (IRS Form 990 knowledge preferred)
  • Strong QuickBooks experience; familiarity with DonorPerfect a plus
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
