
Chief Financial Officer
Our growing nonprofit behavioral health organization is seeking a strong, hands-on CFO to lead the financial and operational growth of the organization.
Programs include:
• Article 31 Mental Health Services
• Article 32 Substance Use Services
• CFTSS
• HCBS
• Peer Support Services
• Care Management
We are looking for a true operational leader who can modernize financial systems, implement KPI-driven management structures, and help bring each department toward financial sustainability.
This is not a traditional accounting role. The ideal candidate understands healthcare finance, Medicaid and insurance reimbursement, projections, productivity, operational strategy, billing collections, grants management, and organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement modern financial systems, dashboards, and reporting tools
• Develop KPIs across all departments and programs
• Track profitability, productivity, census growth, staffing ratios, reimbursement trends, and collections
• Ensure billing is properly submitted, followed up on, and collected in a timely manner
• Oversee grants budgeting, tracking, reporting, and compliance
• Conduct weekly strategy meetings with department heads
• Build forecasting, budgeting, break-even, and projection models
• Oversee billing, revenue cycle, payroll, cash flow, and financial reporting
• Analyze Medicaid, managed care, and insurance reimbursement structures
• Create accountability and performance measurement systems
• Support audits, CFR reporting, compliance, and strategic growth initiatives
Qualifications:
• Experience in healthcare or nonprofit organizations preferred
• Strong understanding of KPIs, forecasting, operational finance, grants, and reimbursement models
• Experience implementing financial and operational software systems
• Hands-on leadership style with strong communication and organizational skills
• Experience with OMH, OASAS, CFTSS, HCBS, or fee-for-service models preferred but not required for the right candidate
• CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required for the right candidate
Position Details:
• Full-time, in-person position BROOKLYN
• Salary range: $200,000–$250,000 annually, based on experience
