Job Description

Position Summary

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager is responsible for overseeing all accounts receivable functions, maximizing cash collections, reducing aging balances, and ensuring accurate customer account management. This role involves managing collections, dispute resolution, credit management, cash application, reporting, and process improvement initiatives while directly leading the AR team and collaborating with Operations, Sales, and Executive Leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the AR team, establishing goals, performance expectations, and development plans.
  • Develop innovative strategies to enhance the AR team and improve the customer experience.
  • Oversee all accounts receivable and collections activities.
  • Manage customer aging and collection strategies to improve Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and cash flow.
  • Resolve billing accuracy and invoice delivery processes.
  • Develop collection procedures, escalation paths, and payment plan programs.
  • Monitor credit risk and customer credit limits.
  • Manage dispute resolution and deduction recovery efforts.
  • Oversee cash application and ensure payment posting accuracy.
  • Prepare AR aging and collections reports.
  • Recommend account holds, credit releases, and write-offs when appropriate.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Sales to resolve customer issues.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer service experience with a pleasant interpersonal demeanor.
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Excel and reporting capabilities.
  • Experience with ERP, accounting, or CRM systems preferred.
