Job Posting: Associate HR Director (Brooklyn)

Schedule: Full-time (36 hours/week)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate HR Director to lead HR operations across our Downstate locations. This role oversees full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, policy compliance, and HR process improvement. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and skilled at building strong relationships at all levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment and guide hiring managers
  • Oversee onboarding and conduct New Hire Orientation
  • Support new hires during their probationary period
  • Serve as the main resource for employee relations and HR policy guidance
  • Manage performance concerns, PIPs, and employee investigations
  • Conduct quarterly check-ins and support employee engagement initiatives
  • Review and update HR policies and documentation
  • Assist with compensation discussions and salary benchmarking
  • Oversee offboarding, exit interviews, and coordination with IT and benefits
  • Support communication, corporate events, and HR projects

Qualifications

  • 4–5 years of progressive HR experience
  • Strong experience in recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations
  • Solid knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws (NY preferred)
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organization, documentation, and project management abilities
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
