Overview
A growing international trade and logistics company is seeking a Duty Drawback Specialist to join its team. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys working with both people and data. The role combines client relationship management, analytical problem-solving, reconciliation work, and regulatory compliance to help clients recover duties paid on imported goods that are later exported. The right candidate will serve as a trusted resource for clients while also diving deep into large datasets, identifying opportunities, reconciling information, and ensuring claims are accurate and complete. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, advanced Excel abilities, and a sharp eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage duty drawback claims from start to finish
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the drawback process
- Build strong client relationships and provide exceptional service
- Review import and export documentation and identify drawback opportunities
- Reconcile large volumes of import and export data to support drawback claims
- Match import transactions to export activity and maintain supporting records
- Analyze data for accuracy, completeness, and eligibility
- Investigate discrepancies and resolve data mismatches
- Build and maintain detailed Excel schedules and supporting documentation
- Communicate with clients regarding documentation requests, claim status, and outstanding items
- Ensure claims are accurate, compliant, and properly supported
- Partner with internal teams to keep claims moving efficiently and on schedule

- Professional, polished, and service-oriented
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, filtering, and data analysis
- Strong reconciliation and analytical abilities
- Ability to work through large datasets and identify discrepancies
- Detail-oriented with exceptional accuracy and follow-through
- Experience in duty drawback, customs brokerage, logistics, imports/exports, compliance, accounting, finance, or related fields is a plus
- Organized and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Curious, proactive, and eager to learn
