We are expanding our team and seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and experienced Authorization Specialist to support our growing network of clinicians and families.


Position Summary

The Authorization Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring clients receive timely and uninterrupted services. This position is responsible for managing insurance authorizations, verifying benefits, and maintaining compliance with payer requirements. The ideal candidate is proactive, efficient, and committed to delivering exceptional administrative support in a fast-paced healthcare setting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for new and existing clients
  • Obtain, track, and renew authorizations for ABA therapy and related services
  • Communicate with insurance payers to resolve discrepancies or authorization issues
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records in company systems
  • Collaborate with billing, intake, and clinical teams to support smooth onboarding and service continuity
  • Stay updated on insurance policies, payer guidelines, and authorization procedures
  • Provide excellent customer service to families, clinicians, and staff

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1–2 years of experience with insurance authorizations (ABA, behavioral health, or medical billing strongly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of insurance verification and prior authorization processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with EHR or billing software preferred
