Department - Adult Internal Medicine

Location: 620 Foster Avenue, Brooklyn NY, 11230

Hours: Full time

Sunday: 9:30AM- 5:30PM

Monday-Thursday: 11:00AM-7:00PM

The Medical Assistant serves as a critical link between the patient and the physician, helping to facilitate a smooth flow of operations throughout the practice. Additionally, the Medial Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring that the patient experience meets our standards of CARE: Compassion, Agility, Respect, and Excellence. The Medical Assistant possesses the ability to work efficiently in high pressure, fast paced environments while maintaining a keen attention to detail and possessing exceptional communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

1. Greeting patients and situating them in exam rooms
2. Collecting vitals (temperature, BP, height, weight, RR, etc.) and documenting within the EMR system
3. Preparing patients and rooms for procedures as indicated
4. Responding to patient medical questions
5. Phlebotomy and POC testing
6. Cleaning rooms between patients
7. Instrument cleaning and sterilization
8. Stocking/restocking rooms as needed

Qualifications

1. Minimum 1 year of professional experience in healthcare, customer service or related position.
2. Phlebotomy experience is preferred

Physical Requirements

1. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
2. May require periods of standing, bending or reaching
3. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds as needed
