Job Description

We are seeking a highly capable General Manager / Executive Operator to take full ownership of the daily operations, performance, and growth of a small plumbing company in Fort Lauderdale.

This is a senior leadership role for someone who will become the central point of accountability for the company. The right candidate will be expected to learn the business, understand both the field and office sides of plumbing operations, and take responsibility for making the company run effectively.

In this role, you are expected to be the answer to problems, not the person who passes them along. You will be responsible for making sound decisions, solving issues quickly, and ensuring that every part of the company is moving in the right direction. When something breaks down operationally, administratively, financially, or in the field, you are the person expected to take ownership and get it resolved.

This is not a traditional 9-to-5 management position. We need someone who is highly accountable, independent, decisive, and comfortable carrying significant responsibility. The right person will not wait for constant direction. They will identify problems, make decisions, follow through, and ensure that things get done.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the central point of responsibility for company operations
  • Oversee day-to-day operations across the office, field, service, and construction divisions
  • Learn and understand the company’s plumbing operations, systems, customers, employees, and processes
  • Manage scheduling, manpower planning, job coordination, customer issues, and field communication
  • Oversee estimating, purchasing, materials, vendors, billing, collections, and financial performance
  • Supervise hiring, training, employee accountability, performance management, and staffing decisions
  • Work with bookkeeping, payroll coordination, reporting, projections, and operational planning
  • Improve systems, processes, communication, and accountability throughout the company
  • Make sound decisions under pressure and take responsibility for the outcome
  • Solve problems directly and ensure nothing falls through the cracks
  • Work directly with ownership on company strategy, growth, and execution

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership, judgment, and decision-making ability
  • Experience managing operations, people, projects, or a small business
  • Background in plumbing, construction, trades, service, or field operations preferred
  • Ability to quickly learn the plumbing business from both the office and field perspective
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and accountable
  • Comfortable handling pressure, responsibility, and difficult decisions
  • Strong problem-solving ability and follow-through
  • Willingness to wear multiple hats and take ownership of whatever needs to be done

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with an ownership mindset. This person is practical, driven, resourceful, and capable of becoming the person the company relies on to solve problems and keep the business moving forward.

They must be able to make sound decisions, manage people, solve problems, improve systems, and learn whatever is necessary to lead the company effectively. No task should be viewed as too big, too small, or outside their responsibility.

This role is best suited for someone who wants real responsibility, significant authority, and the opportunity to help run, improve, and grow a company as if it were their own.

Compensation

Salary range is $100,000–$150,000, based on experience, ability, and overall fit.
