Sales Manager

Job Description

About the Role

We’re hiring a Sales Manager to lead our sales team and drive the company toward its X-year revenue target. This is not a scorekeeper position. You’ll work at two levels at once: strategic — setting targets, forecasting, and opening new markets — and hands-on — coaching reps daily, jumping on live deals, and personally helping close. If you only track numbers, this isn’t your job. If you only sell and don’t build a team, it isn’t either. We need both.

What You’ll Do

  • Translate our X-year goal into annual and quarterly targets, and build the plan to hit them
  • Recruit, train, and coach the sales team — daily, not weekly
  • Review leads, drive the pipeline, follow every proposal to a decision, and help close — including personally owning key deals
  • Open new markets, zip codes, and service lines; pursue RFPs (private and city/municipal); support pricing on new opportunities
  • Revive and grow existing and dormant accounts through cross-sell and upsell
  • Identify networking events and trade shows that produce real returns, and build the team’s in-person and digital presence
  • Route and cross-sell leads across our sister companies; align with Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, Legal, and Operations
  • Own the CRM as the single source of truth; report sales performance weekly; approve quotes and contracts
  • Be present, involved, and available to your team — reachable, engaged, and hands-on with day-to-day struggles
