Shabbos/Holiday Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Location: HASC Center

The HASC Center is seeking caring and responsible individuals to join our team as Shabbos/Holiday Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). DSPs play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, promoting their independence, safety, and integration into the community.

Responsibilities:

• Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) and independent living skills such as grooming, toileting, showering, housekeeping, budgeting, and shopping.
• Support individuals according to their individual treatment plans, including full/partial support or verbal prompting, and behavioral interventions as needed.
• Document outcomes and observations in an electronic health records system (e.g., staff action plans, behavior data, sleep charts, log books).
• Accompany individuals on community outings.
• Maintain a positive and encouraging environment in collaboration with other staff members.
• Attend regular staff meetings and ongoing training to enhance knowledge and skills.
• Maintain all required training, certifications, and driving authorization.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record highly preferred.
• Ability to become certified in:
• AMAP (Approved Medication Administration Personnel)
• Standard First Aid/CPR
• SCIP-R (Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention - Revised)
• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays is required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Must abide by the Direct Support Professional (DSP) Code of Ethics at all times.
