DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL WANTED

We are looking for a warm, energetic, and reliable individual to spend Sunday time with a high-functioning young man with Down syndrome who is eager to engage with the world around him.

Who we're looking for:

• This role is a wonderful fit for a retiree with time and heart to give, or a college student looking for meaningful work on weekends.
• No formal degree required - just genuine enthusiasm, patience, and a spirit of adventure.

Schedule:

• Sundays (hours flexible, discuss upon inquiry)

Location:

• Brooklyn, NY

Pay:

• Hourly, competitive - discussed upon inquiry

The ideal candidate:

• Is patient, consistent, and genuinely enjoys one-on-one time
• Doesn't need prior DSP certification (experience with special needs a plus)
• Is locally based in or near Brooklyn
• Can commit to a regular Sunday schedule
• Has access to a car - a definite plus!

What you'll do:

• Explore Brooklyn - museums, parks, shopping, and local spots
• Stay active with walks, light sports, and outdoor outings
• Practice technology skills (phone, apps, and more)
• Simply hang out, have fun, perhaps learn together, and be a consistent, positive presence
• Requires some assistance with personal hygiene/bathroom needs.
