ASHAR Learning Center Director

The ASHAR Learning Center Director will oversee and support the academic and developmental needs of students who require additional learning support across divisions. The Director will ensure that students receive appropriate interventions and that faculty are equipped with strategies to promote student success. The Learning Center Director will work closely with Division Principals and the Guidance Department as appropriate, and collaborate with the Director of Grants and Funding to ensure proper submission of relevant documentation.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Provide academic and behavioral support and implement appropriate interventions to help all students succeed
  2. Collaborate with Division Principals regarding student progress, placement, and instructional needs
  3. Coordinate with the Director of Grants and Funding to support compliance, documentation, and funding-related initiatives
  4. Develop and oversee RTI (Response to Intervention) processes, including data collection, tiered interventions, and progress monitoring
  5. Prepare and coordinate RTI meetings and documentation
  6. Write comprehensive teacher reports and student progress summaries as needed
  7. Conduct classroom observations to model strategies, provide feedback, and recommend instructional modifications and appropriate accommodations
  8. Support teachers in differentiating instruction and strengthening executive functioning skills
  9. Meet with students individually or in small groups to provide targeted academic support
  10. Develop individualized academic plans with measurable goals and monitor progress throughout the year
  11. Maintain ongoing communication with parents, including progress updates and recommendations for outside evaluations or services when appropriate
  12. Coordinate related services, documentation, and compliance requirements
  13. Participate in admissions and student review processes when appropriate

Qualifications

  1. Master’s degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, School Psychology, or a related field
  2. Experience working with diverse learners
  3. Strong understanding of RTI frameworks and intervention models
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  5. Highly organized and detail-oriented
  6. Strong leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  7. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  8. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  9. Professional, confident, and student-centered demeanor

Specifications

  1. Full-time position: Mon.–Thu. 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, Fri. 8:30 AM–1:45 PM
