Special Education Teacher (SWD Certified) – Queens

About the Role

We are seeking a certified Special Education Teacher (Students with Disabilities) to join our Queens location. This role is ideal for an educator passionate about creating inclusive, supportive learning environments for students with diverse needs.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement IEP-aligned lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
2. Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to accommodate varying ability levels
3. Track, document, and report on student progress toward IEP goals
4. Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
5. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student development
6. Maintain a structured, positive, and safe classroom environment
7. Participate in IEP meetings and case conferences as needed

Qualifications

1. NYS certification in Special Education (Students with Disabilities)
2. Prior classroom experience working with students with diverse learning needs
3. Strong classroom management and behavior support skills
4. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
