Job Description

The Technical & Finance Officer is responsible for integrating technical operations with financial planning, analysis, and reporting. This role ensures that technical projects, systems, and assets are financially sound, cost-effective, and aligned with organizational goals. The position requires strong collaboration between technical teams and finance stakeholders to support informed decision-making and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Responsibilities

  • Support planning, implementation, and monitoring of technical projects and systems
  • Evaluate technical requirements and translate them into cost estimates and budgets
  • Monitor performance, maintenance, and lifecycle costs of technical assets
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with engineers, IT teams, vendors, and contractors as needed

Financial Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage budgets related to technical operations and projects
  • Track expenditures, analyze variances, and prepare financial reports
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis and financial forecasting for technical initiatives
  • Support procurement processes, including vendor evaluation and contract costing
  • Ensure financial compliance, documentation, and audit readiness

Reporting & Analysis

  • Develop integrated technical and financial reports for management
  • Provide insights to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize resources
  • Support strategic planning through data-driven recommendations

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical, financial, or hybrid role (depending on level)
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control
  • Familiarity with technical systems, infrastructure, or project management
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to bridge technical concepts with financial implications
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial/ERP systems
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)

  • Professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, CFA, PMP, or equivalent)
  • Experience in project-based or technical environments
  • Knowledge of financial modeling and forecasting tools
