We are a profitable, HealthTech startup using AI to solve a problem that impacts millions of Americans. We have a marquee anchor client and are already in market. We're a small founding team moving fast. This is not a big company. If you want to build something from nothing that actually matters, keep reading. Please note: this is an in-person job in our Miami office. You must currently live within commuting distance of Miami or express that you are willing to re-locate to be considered for this position. 


The Role

We're looking for a founding engineer to be the first technical hire on the team. You'll own the entire platform — architecture, backend, frontend, AI layer, and infrastructure — and execute day to day with direction from the founding team. This is a hands-on builder role. There's no team beneath you, no backlog to manage, no bureaucracy. You build what we need, you take ownership of the stack, and you grow into the technical leader of the company as we scale.


What You'll Do

• Build our core platform architecture from scratch — backend, frontend, and infrastructure

• Design and implement the AI layer that powers our product

• Integrate data across partner and client systems via APIs and external data sources

• Build dashboards and tools that demonstrate real-world impact to clients and investors

• Instrument our platform for product analytics and business metrics

• Own data quality, security, and infrastructure end to end


What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience (Python or Node backend + React frontend)

• You've shipped a product from zero to production — not just added features at a big company

• Built or integrated with LLM/AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar) in a production environment

• Comfortable owning infrastructure: cloud setup, CI/CD, monitoring, security

• Mobile app experience (React Native or Flutter) or strong willingness to learn fast

• Clear communicator who can translate technical decisions into plain language for non-technical leadership

• Self-directed, low-ego, and energized by building in ambiguous early-stage environments

• Bonus: Healthcare, govtech, or benefits domain experience (HIPAA, Medicaid, ACA)


Compensation

• $200,000 base salary

• Performance bonus

• Meaningful early-stage equity (4-year vest / 1-year cliff)
