The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to oversee comprehensive payroll operations across multiple financial entities. In this role, you’ll be responsible for gathering and verifying employee data and time records, calculating compensation, taxes, and deductions, issuing payments, and ensuring payroll records are accurate and up to date. Additionally, you’ll supervise a team of remote HR/payroll processors, ensuring payroll is completed accurately and on schedule, while offering support and ensuring adherence to established policies and compliance standards.
Success in this role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to regulatory and company standards. Excellent interpersonal skills are also essential.
Key Responsibilities
Process payroll and related activities; review payroll statements and reports
Resolve payroll issues, respond to inquiries, and enforce payroll policies in line with company and legal standards
Supervise data entry into HRIS/Payroll systems
Recommend improvements to payroll procedures for greater efficiency
Train HR/payroll staff and conduct ongoing audits of their work
Required Experience and Skills:
Knowledge of payroll processes, federal/state labor and tax laws
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); strong typing and data entry skills
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Ability to develop creative solutions and make quick, accurate decisions
Proven track record of meeting tight deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum four (4) years of recent payroll experience, including automated time and attendance systems
Supervisory experience preferred
Healthcare industry experience highly preferred
