Park Slope Center for Mental Health (PSCMH) is a community-based outpatient clinic regulated by the NYS Office of Mental Health. For over 30 years, we’ve been dedicated to serving individuals, families, and groups throughout Brooklyn and the five boroughs.
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented HR Assistant to join our administrative team. This role is critical to keeping HR operations running smoothly, with a strong focus on onboarding new staff, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance. The ideal candidate thrives on organization, excels at time management, and can efficiently handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist with daily HR operations, including maintaining employee files, preparing HR documents, and tracking staff credentials.
Coordinate and execute onboarding for new hires, including preparing offer packets, scheduling orientations, and ensuring a smooth first day.
Support recruitment processes by posting job openings, screening candidates, and scheduling interviews.
Maintain accurate HR records and databases in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
Assist with offboarding and HR-related projects as needed.
Maintain strict confidentiality and follow OMH and HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in HR or administrative support is preferred; experience in healthcare or mental health settings is a plus.
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and problem-solve independently.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Professional handling of sensitive information.
Familiarity with HR systems and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.
