Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic Marketing and Communications Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping and executing a comprehensive and consistent marketing plan to share the Jewish Grad Organization’s (JGO) initiatives and impact with Jewish graduate students and donors across North America. The Marketing and Social Media Manager will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing marketing strategies and communications that elevate JGO’s profile within the Jewish community.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Implementation:
- Develop, implement, and manage innovative marketing strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Execute marketing campaigns to enhance brand visibility and positioning within the Jewish community to support student engagement and fundraising goals.
- Develop and maintain a cohesive brand identity, ensuring consistent application of colors, copy and tone across all marketing materials and platforms to enhance brand recognition and engagement.
Content Development and Publication Oversight:
- Provide editorial direction for all organizational communications and publications, including blogs and articles, ensuring high-quality content and design and implementation of SEO strategies.
- Oversee the production and distribution of print and electronic materials, maintaining brand consistency.
- Work to ensure that all content is informative, engaging, and aligned with organizational objectives.
Strong copywriting skills
- Ability to craft compelling and engaging messages for various audiences across all marketing materials (website, social media, email campaigns, etc.).
Social Media Management:
- Develop, implement, and oversee the organization's social media strategy and content calendar to publish across all main social media platforms.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of social media campaigns to make data driven decisions to increase engagement and reach.
- Manage social media content development, including text, images and videos, in collaboration with copywriters and designers.
Experience creating social media content calendars
- Ability to plan and schedule engaging content across various social media platforms.
Digital Marketing
- Develop, design and implement email marketing campaigns to reach and engage the target audience for event registration and donor stewardship.
- Ensure that the website is up to date with a streamlined user experience.
- Edit podcasts produced by the organization and create marketing campaigns to increase listeners and subscribers.
Experience with email marketing platforms
- Familiarity with tools like Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.
Proficiency in design software (preferred)
- Basic knowledge of tools like Canva or Adobe Photoshop to create visually appealing marketing materials.
Experience editing podcasts (preferred):
- Ability to use audio editing software like Audacity or GarageBand to enhance podcast quality.
Public Relations and Media Coordination:
- Coordinate media interest and proactively engage with target media to ensure regular coverage.
- Ensure timely and appropriate responses to media inquiries.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Collaborate closely with development teams to align marketing efforts with fundraising and organizational goals.
- Foster a collaborative work environment and cross-functional communication.
Qualifications:
- Holistic marketing experience that includes social media management, content development, and public relations.
- Strong copywriting skills (see above)
- Experience creating social media content calendars (see above)
- Self-starter with strong project management skills and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with the Jewish community and culture.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint: Ability to create compelling presentations for internal or external audiences.
Working Arrangement:
- This position is available as either part-time or full-time, offering flexibility to accommodate different schedules.

Salary: $65,000 - $80,000
