The Jewish Graduate Student Initiative, JGSI, is the only national organization solely dedicated to Jewish graduate students. We support Jewish graduate student associations on campus and host top-notch Jewish programs off campus, all across the U.S. JGSI's mission is to support Jewish life on graduate campuses and to connect Jewish grad students and alumni to their heritage and the greater Jewish community.

JGSI seeks a dynamic, motivated, and creative professional with a passion for social media to serve as JGSI’s Digital Marketing Specialist! This professional will help us make relevant, daily posts across our different channels, create and track facebook ads, administer our social media efforts, assist in email marketing and coordinate various marketing campaigns. You will work closely with our CEO and COO to develop and execute the company's social media strategy (including community growth and content strategy)

This is a great opportunity to be "in charge" of social media for a growing startup and to apply your skills in new and creative ways. This is a part-time, non-exempt position and can be done remotely.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plans and executes all web, SEO/SEM, database marketing, email, social media, and display advertising campaigns.
  • Designs, builds, and maintains our social media presence.
  • Measures and reports performance of all digital marketing campaigns and assesses against goals (ROI and KPIs).
  • Identifies trends and insights and optimizes spend and performance based on the insights.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to create landing pages and optimize user experience.
  • Utilizes strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points.
  • Identifies critical conversion points and drop off points and optimizes user funnels.
  • Evaluates emerging technologies.
  • Provides thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate.
  • Develop and coordinate all aspects of the Social media strategy, create and implement the Social media calendar for all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn).
  • Manage and post to our various channels on an ongoing basis: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter
  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies
  • Analyze and report on social media content performance on a weekly and monthly basis. Utilize insights on trends and opportunities to recommend future marketing activities.
  • Oversee social media accounts’ design (e.g., Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures, blog layout)
  • Create original, engaging content (photos and videos) for social media.
  • Create and execute ads on facebook
  • Create and distribute mailchimp campaigns
