Shema Kolainu - Hear Our Voices, a school for children with autism, is seeking several full-time Teacher Assistants to provide services in our Brooklyn center starting September 2021

The Teacher Assistant will participate in lesson planning; implement individualized curriculum developed for our students; contribute to a supportive and challenging classroom environment and use Applied Behavior Analysis instructional methods, under the supervision of the Special Education Teacher.

Hours: Monday – Thursday 8am – 3:30pm & Friday 8am – 2pm

Responsibilities:

• Assist classroom teacher with class functions
• Provide instructional and behavioral management support to students
• Work with children individually and in small group setting
• Communicate with parents, staff, and administration
• Prepare Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and participates in IEP meetings
• Collaborate with student’s therapy team as necessary
• Assist in setting up, cleaning, and maintaining classroom equipment and supplies
