Dental Assistant – Full Time

Position Overview:

We are seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to support patient care and daily office operations. The Dental Assistant plays a key role in ensuring patients are comfortable, prepared, and well cared for while assisting the dentist during examinations and treatments. This role also includes accurate documentation and adherence to clinical protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials prior to patient visits
  • Assist the dentist during procedures, including chair-side support, suctioning, and passing instruments
  • Welcome, seat, comfort, and prepare patients for treatment
  • Take patient information, document chief complaints, and enter data into the electronic health record
  • Sterilize instruments and maintain infection-control standards
  • Expose and develop radiographs; pour, trim, and polish study casts
  • Fabricate temporary restorations and clean/polish removable appliances
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, plaque control, and post-operative care
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
  • Ensure treatment areas and equipment remain clean, safe, and operational
  • Monitor dental supply inventory and assist with ordering and restocking
  • Support emergency preparedness, including CPR certification and emergency protocols
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment and perform other assigned duties as needed

Requirements:

  • NYS registration as a Dental Assistant
  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
  • Ability to assist chair-side, sterilize and prepare instruments, and support patient intake
  • Strong interpersonal skills and patient-focused communication
  • Willingness to work under the supervision of a licensed dentist
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and office software (Outlook, Google Suite)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Positive, flexible, and dependable attitude

Compensation:

$25.00–$35.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
