Psychiatrist
Location: 1955 McDonald Ave, Brooklyn, NY
Employment Type: Full-Time | 35 hours/week
Salary: $300,000 – $320,000 annually

About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatrist to join our Article 31 mental health clinic. In this role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment services for children, adolescents, and other clients. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, supervise clinical staff, and deliver evidence-based psychiatric care while maintaining compliance with New York State regulations and Medicaid requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for children, adolescents, and adults
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans, including medication management and follow-up care
- Provide ongoing clinical care and adjust treatment plans based on clinical outcomes
- Collaborate with therapists, social workers, nurse practitioners, and other staff to coordinate care
- Supervise and mentor clinical staff and trainees to ensure high-quality care and professional development
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical case reviews
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation in the EHR system
- Provide crisis assessment and intervention services according to clinic protocols
- Offer psychoeducation to clients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and medications
- Manage care for high-risk or complex clients, including risk assessment and safety planning
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity, particularly with the Orthodox Jewish population
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry
- Active and unrestricted New York State medical license
- Experience working with children and adolescents in psychiatric or mental health settings
- Expertise in psychopharmacology and evidence-based psychiatric interventions
- Experience with high-risk clients and complex clinical presentations
- Strong supervision, mentorship, and leadership skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Professional presentation and ability to build rapport with clients of all ages
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong clinical documentation and organizational skills
- Familiarity with the Orthodox Jewish community a plus
- Enrollment as a Medicaid provider or willingness to complete enrollment
