We are seeking a reliable, professional, and warm Counseling Center Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our Mental Health Counseling Center. This role is essential in creating a welcoming, organized, and confidential environment for clients, visitors, and staff.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and comfortable multitasking in a busy clinical setting.

Position Details

  • Title: Counseling Center Receptionist
  • Status: Full-time, Non-exempt
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 35 hours per week
  • Pay Rate:
  • $20/hour before 4:00 PM
  • $23/hour after 4:00 PM and Sundays
  • Location: 1955 Kings Highway
  • Department: MHC / Administrative

About the Role

As the front desk representative of the clinic, the Receptionist supports daily operations, manages client flow, and ensures professional communication while maintaining strict confidentiality and appropriate boundaries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and visitors in a warm, professional manner
  • Answer, screen, and route phone calls; take accurate messages
  • Schedule appointments and manage room availability
  • Check clients in through the electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Verify and collect copays or self-pay fees
  • Update client attendance records for no-shows and cancellations
  • Support therapists and clinic staff with administrative tasks
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional reception and waiting area
  • Monitor security cameras and follow clinic safety procedures
  • Manage mail, packages, office supplies, and inventory
  • Coordinate with maintenance and vendors as needed
  • Maintain client confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Professional demeanor and customer-service mindset
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy environment
  • Comfortable using computers and basic office systems
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
