Position Overview

We are seeking a sharp, persistent, and highly organized Negotiator / Collections Specialist to join a fast-paced litigation and collections environment focused on merchant cash advance matters. In this role, you will manage a high volume of active files, communicate directly with business owners who are in default, and negotiate settlement agreements to resolve outstanding balances. This is not a scripted call center role — we are looking for someone who can think on their feet, handle difficult conversations professionally, and stay composed under pressure. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who is confident on the phone, organized, resilient, and capable of managing multiple conversations and files at once.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and negotiate a high volume of active collection files
  • Call, text, and email merchants regarding outstanding balances and settlement opportunities
  • Negotiate payment arrangements and settlement agreements
  • Maintain detailed notes and follow-ups within internal systems
  • Work closely with attorneys and internal teams regarding litigation status and negotiations
  • Communicate with clients regarding account updates and settlement progress
  • Stay organized across multiple ongoing negotiations and deadlines
  • Handle difficult conversations professionally without becoming emotionally reactive
  • Think strategically and creatively when files become stalled or unresponsive
  • Meet activity and performance expectations in a fast-paced environment


Requirements
  • Previous experience in collections, debt settlement, negotiations, sales, or a high-volume phone-based role
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to handle pressure and difficult conversations calmly
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently
  • Comfortable managing a large volume of files and conversations simultaneously
  • Thick skin and resilience — able to move past rejection and objections quickly
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think beyond a script
  • Comfortable working fully in-office in a fast-paced environment

Compensation & Benefits
  • $55,000 base salary
