We are seeking a Senior Account Manager to join our compounding pharmacy team. This is primarily a relationship-focused role: you will be the main point of contact for a portfolio of existing prescriber accounts, ensuring they receive outstanding service, support, and clinical education. In addition to managing and growing current accounts, you will be expected to bring in new prescriber relationships over time.
This role reports directly to the Director of Marketing and is ideal for someone who thrives on building trust with healthcare providers, is organized and proactive in client communication, and has the sales instinct to spot and close new opportunities without losing sight of the clients already counting on us.
Account Servicing (Primary Focus):
• Serve as the dedicated point of contact for an established portfolio of active prescriber accounts, including physicians, nurse practitioners, clinics, and other healthcare providers
• Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships through regular check-ins, on-site visits, and responsive communication
• Educate prescribers and their staff on our compounding capabilities, available formulations, and any new product offerings
• Coordinate with the pharmacy and clinical teams to resolve account issues quickly and ensure a seamless prescriber and patient experience
• Monitor account health and flag any at-risk relationships early; develop retention strategies to protect existing revenue
New Business Development (Secondary Focus):
• Identify and pursue new prescriber accounts through referrals, networking, and cold outreach
• Manage a new business pipeline and provide regular reporting to the Director of Marketing on prospecting activity and progress
• Represent the company professionally at industry events and in the field
General:
• Maintain accurate records of all account activity, visits, and communications in our CRM system
• Stay current on compounding regulations, therapeutic trends, and competitor activity in relevant specialties
• Collaborate with marketing on materials, campaigns, and strategies to support both retention and growth
Required:
• 4+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, specialty pharmacy, or healthcare sales or account management
• Proven ability to manage and grow a portfolio of healthcare provider accounts
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable building relationships with clinical and administrative staff
• Organized, self-directed, and able to balance account servicing responsibilities with new business outreach
• Experience using CRM software to manage contacts, activities, and pipeline
• Ability to travel within the NYC / tri-state area for in-person account visits
Preferred:
• Experience in compounding pharmacy or specialty/custom medication sales
• Existing prescriber relationships in relevant therapeutic areas (e.g., hormone therapy, dermatology, pain management, pediatrics)
This is a salaried role with a commission component — designed to reflect that your first responsibility is to the accounts we already serve, with additional earning potential as you grow the business.
• Base Salary: $75,000–$85,000 depending on experience
• Commission: Earned on new prescriber accounts you bring in (paid on new revenue generated)
• Subsidized benefits package including medical, dental, and vision
• 401(k) with company match
• Flexible hybrid work schedule
• Mileage/travel reimbursement for in-field account visits
