We serve all areas of the company, from risk management to product. In this role, you will be working closely with the insurance and derivative teams. This is an ideal position for an ambitious individual who is eager to learn and grow quickly and take on a variety of interesting and challenging responsibilities.About the RoleArbol is seeking an organized, proactive, and detail-oriented associate to join our team! The ideal candidate will be excited to research, recommend, and implement new processes and best practices for Arbol’s accounting team. You’ll be a key player supporting our CFO and current team members. This role will include managing the current workflow in the accounting department, including keeping track of trade lifecycles, payments, reconciliation, preparing financial statements, and reporting.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reportsAnalyze trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitments and expensesAccounting guidance and research, along with memo drafting and/or managing the process with a firm that helps.Drive the Audit processMonth close/consolidation/review.Maintains the general ledger.Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts..Files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
3+ years of tax accounting experienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related fieldValid CPA licenseGood working knowledge of QuickBooks or other accounting software Experience preparing or reviewing monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.General knowledge of GAAP guidelines and ability to enhance knowledge and apply to a variety of situationsStrong Excel skills required
