Job Description

The ABA Clinical Director directs the organization's clinical strategy to meet benchmarks for quality and productivity. The Clinical Director provides overall programmatic and clinical oversight to ensure consistency and continuity in provision of services. The ABA CD leads ongoing clinical staff development and collaborates with executive leadership and Governing Entities. Duties include, but are not limited to, establishing clinical practice protocols, case conferencing, and creating and reviewing treatment plans as needed. Collaboration with other service areas is vital for the ABA Clinical Director, especially within the primary care settings, coordinating between medical and behavioral.


Responsibilities:

·      Consult, establish, and address clinical goals utilizing a team approach for input and discussion.

·      Make appropriate adjustments and modifications to clinical services to meet community needs.

·      Ensure full compliance with the reimbursement and licensing regulations for clinical contractual deliverables.

·      Stay informed and maintain communication with governing and reimbursement entities as needed to ensure program growth and maintenance.

·      Address and monitor any corrective action plans related to the clinical and administrative performance of the clinical staff.

·      Collaborate with all divisions, program directors, and managers to ensure a robust integrated behavior health care system.

·      Lead and manage clinical staff through recruitment, retention, mentoring, coaching, and supervision, ensuring staff engagement to meet organizational and department clinical goals and objectives.

·      Ensure staff meets ethical standards (Code of Ethics).

·      Provide for or delegate clinical supervision of individual and/or group sessions for all non-independently licensed providers and Behavioral Techs and interns. Maintain documentation of those sessions for audit purposes.

·      Lead clinical staffing with administrative support and case managers.

·      Monitors timeframe goals for any staff needing to complete their independent licensing based on State or Board Licensing/Certification requirements.

·      Remain current on all required trainings supporting clinical supervisor and licensure renewals.

·      Coordinate or delegate the peer review process to ensure accurate record documentation by staff. Set guidelines for the peer review process and maintain documentation of peer reviews.

·      Support all agency licensing and accreditation processes and direct implementation of clinical behavioral health policies and procedures that support this process.

·      Participate in the Quality Assurance/Improvement Program and ensure that program staff is knowledgeable of required QA activities and participate in improvement monitoring specific to clinical performance.

·      Responsible for staff readiness, including Comprehensive Medical Record Review audits.

·      Participates in various trainings related to professional development, including those that support providing services to the persons served in the program.

·      Provide clinical services to patients on the assigned caseload.

·      Ensures total agency caseload has current authorization.

·      Conducts 3-5 clinical trainings a year.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Board-Certified-Behavior-Analyst (NY LBA licensed preferred)
  • Leadership Qualities
  •  5+ years of ABA experience
  • Experience providing clinical supervision to staff
  • Knowledge of requirements for providing clinical program oversight.
  • Cultural, social, and economic sensitivity and competency
  • Ability to establish program goals and objectives and to assess programs toward their achievement.
  • Ability to provide clinical advice, guidance, and support to professional staff in specialty areas.
  • Ability to lead a combined remote and in-person team, ensuring efficiency in service delivery and program communication.
  • Ability to establish rapport and gain the confidence of care teams, clients, and associates.
  • Proficient with computer-based applications such as MS Office, Adobe, and EHR practice management & clinical software (Central Reach, Artemis ABA, Catalyst, Motivity, etc.).
