A dynamic, thriving, $200 million privately held company in distribution, construction, and plumbing supplies company is seeking a Finance Controller.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, with expertise in the distribution, wholesale, or supply chain industries.
In this role, you will work directly with the CFO and COO, implementing company-wide financial controls, processes, and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and financial excellence.
This position requires 5+ years of experience in a Controller position with experience in industries such as distribution, construction, or plumbing supplies.

Besides the key responsibilities below, you MUST have experience with the following:
- 1. ERP Systems – ideally having been involved with one or more ERP Selections or implementations.
- 2. Inventory: Understanding and managing the financial aspects related to the company’s inventory
- 3. Collections: Manage and lead a team
- 4. Strong Leadership and Team Management skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Manage accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other financial regulations and standards.
- Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures.
- Conduct financial analysis to guide business decisions and strategies.
- Collaborate with senior management to drive financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Manage inventory accounting and ensure accurate costing.
- Oversee inventory management and control processes.
Qualifications:
- Must have 5+ years in a Controller position
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred but not required.
- Proven experience as a Finance Controller in distribution, wholesale, or supply chain industries.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, inventory management, and cost accounting.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
Position Type: Full-time Permanent
Location: Staten Island, NY – Onsite
Reports to: CFO with a dotted line to the COO
Compensation: Base salary range: $200K-250K plus bonus (Salary depends on experience)
