Job Description
Shoresh, Inc., a Jewish non-profit organization, is seeking a dedicated bookkeeper to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain financial records, including recording bills, invoices, payments, and deposits.
- Process payroll and pay bills.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and send financial reports, pledge letters, and donation letters.
- Make bank deposits and manage filing of financial documents.
- Assist in planning and organizing organizational events.
- Occasionally attend weekend/evening functions (recruitment events, fundraisers, etc.), assisting with registration, setup, and cleanup.
- Perform other administrative tasks as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in QuickBooks is required.
- Strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent interpersonal skills (in-person, phone, and email communication).
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with numbers.
- Strong writing and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Hours & Compensation:
- Work Location: Primary office in Pikesville (30-40 hours per week, schedule negotiable).
- Summer Requirement: Seven weeks at our satellite office in Frederick (transportation provided).
- Salary: Commensurate with experience.
