Assistant to Director of Development
Donor Management & Fundraising Operations
Maintain and manage the donor gift management system, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Regularly clean and update donor records for effective relationship tracking.
Collections: Track outstanding donations—including smaller gifts, higher-value donor commitments, and accounts receivable (AR)—and incorporate follow-up needs into a centralized fundraising calendar; actual donor outreach is conducted by the CDO or designated staff.
Track donor pledges and follow-up needs using a comprehensive fundraising calendar.
Develop donor engagement materials, including case highlights for Board leadership communications (e.g., Board President updates with personal appeal).
Campaign Support
Assist with donor outreach related to the Capital Campaign, excluding high-level solicitation and closing.
Manage historical data and trends related to shul drives and other grassroots campaigns.
Support campaign logistics, including coordination with architects, designers, and marketing vendors under the direction of the CDO.
Event Planning & Execution
Coordinate logistics for development events, including location scouting, vendor relations, and onsite execution.
Collaborate with SBH staff, volunteers, and event committees to ensure successful event planning and delivery.
Work in close consultation with events committee (e.g., Charles Dweck for venue approval, Annie Beyda for NJ donor events).
Ensure development events held in private homes follow appropriate channels, starting with board committee engagement before staff discussions.
Prepare post-event debriefs and evaluations with the CDO.
Develop and manage event budgets in collaboration with board members, flagging any major changes for CDO review.
Participate in the creation and implementation of marketing strategies for development events.
Produce and share post-event reports for internal and board review.
