About JGO:

The Jewish Grad Organization (JGO) is a dynamic organization dedicated to enriching the experience of Jewish graduate students on over 130 campuses. We provide support through Jewish programming, funding initiatives, and access to speakers across various professions and specialties.

We are seeking a passionate and driven Director of Marketing to lead our marketing efforts and propel us to the next level. This is a hands-on role requiring a strategic thinker with expertise in both traditional and digital marketing channels. The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller with a proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns.

Job Summary:

The Director of Marketing is responsible for developing and implementing the overall marketing strategy for JGO. This includes building brand awareness, increasing engagement with our target audience, driving fundraising efforts, and promoting our programs and services. This role requires a dynamic individual who is comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a small team environment.

Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive annual marketing plan aligned with JGO’s strategic goals.
  • Set measurable objectives, define target audiences, and allocate resources effectively.

Brand Management:

  • Oversee JGO’s brand identity, ensuring consistent messaging and visual representation across all platforms.

Digital Marketing:

  • Manage all digital marketing channels, including social media (organic and paid), email marketing, website content, and SEO.
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow online presence and engagement.

Podcast Marketing:

  • Develop and implement a marketing strategy specifically for JGO’s podcast (if applicable), including audience growth, promotion, and integration with overall marketing efforts.

Content Creation:

  • Oversee the creation of compelling content for website articles, blog posts, social media updates, email newsletters, marketing collateral, and pitch decks.

Social Media Management:

  • Develop and implement social media strategies to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  • Manage accounts, create and schedule content, monitor trends, and analyze performance metrics.

Email Marketing:

  • Develop and execute email marketing campaigns to cultivate relationships with donors, volunteers, and stakeholders.
  • Manage email lists, create email content, and track campaign performance.

Media & Public Relations:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets and influencers.
  • Draft press releases and media kits, and pitch stories to secure media coverage.

Partnership Development:

  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with other organizations to expand reach and promote JGO’s mission.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Track and analyze marketing campaign performance.
  • Provide regular reports on key metrics and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and maximizing ROI.

Pitch Deck Creation:

  • Create compelling and professional pitch decks for fundraising, partnerships, and other initiatives.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure alignment and maximize marketing impact.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of marketing experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
  • Skills: Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing principles, including social media, email marketing, SEO, and content marketing.
  • Experience with podcast marketing is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
