Job Type: Part-Time, Evenings (2 to 3 Nights per week)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Disability Instructor to work with a high-functioning, highly intelligent young adult male. The primary focus will be on preparing him for marriage by developing essential life skills, social skills, and relationship-building techniques. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with disabilities and a strong understanding of their unique challenges and strengths.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized programs to enhance life skills, social skills, and relationship-building techniques.
- Provide one-on-one instruction and support tailored to the individual's needs.
- Collaborate with family members and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to development.
- Monitor and assess progress, adjusting programs as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
- Foster a supportive and encouraging environment to promote confidence and independence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Experience working with individuals with special needs, particularly young adults.
- Strong understanding of social skills training and relationship-building techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work evenings and adapt to a flexible schedule.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in special education or related fields.
- Experience with marriage preparation or relationship counseling.
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies.
Working Hours:
- Part-time, evenings (specific hours to be determined based on the student's schedule).
