Job Description
DRS Yeshiva High School for Boys seeks a Full Time District Based Resource Room Teacher to join our exceptional school faculty in fostering a culture of academic exploration and excellence and dedication to spiritual, intellectual, and personal growth of all students.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction to students with learning differences in a supportive, resource-room setting.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies and interventions as needed.
- Tailor instruction and interventions to meet the unique learning needs of individual students.
- Attend district meetings as needed and ensure compliance with all district and state guidelines for special education services.
- Administer testing for student reevaluation
- Participate in DRS staff meetings and professional development opportunities as part of the school community.
Requirements:
- Valid NYS Teaching Certification in Special Education or a related field.
- Experience working in a resource room or special education setting, preferably at the high school level.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers, administrators, parents, and district personnel.
- Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a yeshiva or religious school setting.
- Knowledge of learning disabilities, ADHD, and other challenges that may impact student performance.
