School-Based Mental Health Professional (LCSW or LMHC)

Location: Flatbush, Brooklyn and Queens

A well-established boys’ elementary school in the heart of Flatbush is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who is passionate about supporting students' emotional well-being in a warm, inclusive, and nurturing school environment.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will provide direct support to students, collaborate with faculty and families, and contribute to a school culture that prioritizes mental health and emotional growth.

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing individual and group counseling to students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
• Collaborating with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement effective intervention strategies
• Conducting assessments and maintaining thorough records of student progress and needs
• Leading workshops and training sessions for staff on mental health awareness and best practices
• Serving as an advocate for students and families by connecting them with relevant resources and support services

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling
• Valid LCSW or LMHC license (New York State)
• Experience working with children, preferably in a school or similar educational setting
• Strong knowledge of child development and school-related mental health issues
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and manage a varied caseload
