Company Description:
C.M. Capital Corporation (www.ccapital.com) (“CMC”) is a Silicon Valley-based private investment company located in Palo Alto, California. Founded in 1969 as a real estate investment company, CMC still holds prime developed and undeveloped real estate in the San Francisco Bay Area and manages direct and indirect real estate investments. CMC was also one of the early pioneers of venture capital investing.
CMC is a member of the Cha Group of companies (“Cha Group”). The Cha Group is based in Hong Kong and was founded in 1949 as China Dyeing Works, a textile manufacturer, by Cha Chi Ming, a visionary and innovative entrepreneur. Today the Cha Group’s business operations span the globe and include textile and other manufacturing, real estate, technology, and financial services. In the United States, the Cha Group’s investments are managed by CMC and C.M. Capital Advisors, LLC (“CMCA”)
Through CMCA, an advisory services company and subsidiary of CMC, it oversees substantial private equity investments, provides investment advice on a portfolio consisting of multiple asset classes including fixed income securities, public equities, hedge funds, private equity and venture capital. In addition to investing for CMC’s own account, CMCA also provides investment advisory services for various Cha Group affiliates.
Capital Foundation is an affiliated company created by CMC in order to support charitable organizations in the local community
General Scope of Position
The Analyst will be an integral member of a small and highly skilled investment team responsible for managing a complex multi-asset class portfolio for a private family. The portfolio is heavily focused on funds investing and the firm is actively building a portfolio of direct and co- investments.
The position will allow an investment professional to gain vertical specialization and generalist experience through training from senior team members. The firm has an excellent record of accomplishment of developing people and providing opportunities for ongoing career growth and development. Responsibilities:
· Assist AD and MD in analyses of funds and projects (incl opportunistic investment themes and ideas)
Perform qualitative and quantitative due diligence on prospective managers, monitor existing managers, market.
? Data entry and analysis, cleanup related to returns streams,
? Factors, macro using Excel, Bloomberg, eVestment and Venn; respond to data inquiries using similar software
? Review pitch decks, DDQs, perform Internet research.
? Conduct market, sector and industry-specific research as requested
? Observe and contribute to live team discussions on market/micro/investment analyses, ideas, deep dives (e.g. how many times we think of ‘what if we did this, try it’… ‘oh run this again but this way’, etc). Real-time work optimized through dynamic collaboration, feedback and quick turn-around
o Assist in review of all in-bound deal flow and maintenance of pipeline; over time, perform initial screening calls with select managers
o Deliver concise qualitative and quantitative reporting and analysis on investments, including portfolio liquidity
o Act as reporting/data liaison with Finance team to provide relevant reports for all facets of portfolio management and analysis, and to ensure seamless reporting process for family and firm communications
· Attend manager meetings/calls
o Take notes, capture key messages and highlights of calls, track relative to previous communications
o Participate in real-time debriefs to inform next steps including follow up analysis and areas of due diligence
· Assist in development and writing of high level of routine communications o Ability to produce letters, presentations, and memos for team to provide feedback/edit and quick turnaround
o Take and produce minutes for Investment Committee and Investment Advisory Board meetings
· Other skills
o Expected quick progression to grow to participate in live team discussion on manager merits, macro thoughts, and next steps
o Networking for ideas, interests – local US EF&F community
o Self-starter – seek out the next step in projects and analysis, project work
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or CFA in progress a plus
· Minimum of 1-2 years investment-related experience at any of the following organizations: asset management firm; single/multi-family office; foundation, endowment, pension fund, consultant; investment bank; or hedge fund.
· Experience with hedge fund allocations.
· Knowledge in multi-asset-class portfolio risk management.
· Keen interest in economics, financial markets, and alternative investment management. · Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to integrate quickly into a small team of investment professionals and network within the investment community. This role requires a high degree of interaction with senior investment and fund professionals, both with the Managing Director and independently.
· Robust quantitative skills, including thorough understanding of quantitative/statistical analyses and Excel functionality and modeling. Ability to learn/apply investment specific modeling concepts.
· Strong attention to detail and precision.
· Expertise with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required; competence with Bloomberg and portfolio-level risk analytic tools preferred.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

Requirements:

· CMC currently operates a hybrid work schedule of 2 days per week in the office and 3 days remote but will be transitioning to 3 days per week in the office.
· The starting base range for this position is $100,000 to $110,000,000 annually, not including annual incentive award opportunity. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors including experience, education, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
