Job Description

We are looking to hire several Morahs / Teachers full-time for a small NYS licensed year-round day care located in West Hempstead, NY. We are looking for a lead Morah and assistant Morahs to help supervise a maximum of twelve children between ~5 months and 4 years old. Hourly rate is commensurate to experience. Hours of operation are Mon-Thu 8:30am-3:30pm and Fri 8:30am-12pm. If you're available for extended hours, that's a plus, but not mandatory. Overtime rate payment will be given for extended hours.

General Requirements:

• CPR / First Aid trained
• OCFS training certificates (they require hourly trainings for health, safety, etc. for lead and assistant providers) (can be completed after hiring if you haven't completed them before)
• Lead Morah Position - Prior experience working in a day care or similar setting, and also developing a Judaic curriculum structure year round, including fun and educational activities during major Jewish holidays, etc.
• Lead Morah Position - Advanced degree and/or New York State teaching certification 
• Understanding of early childhood development, age-appropriate activities and feeding guidelines
• Attentive to the principles of social, emotional, and cognitive development of infants and toddlers
• Genuinely enjoy working with infants and toddlers
• Are upbeat, energetic, positive, empathetic, patient and caring
• Communicate proactively, sensitively and warmly with all stakeholders - children, parents, faculty and staff
• Prepare and setup classroom materials
