Job Description

Naaleh High School for Girls seeks a part-time College Guidance Counselor for the 2024-2025 school year.  

Our College Guidance Counselor will guide students through the entire college admissions process in a manner that is aligned with the values and mission of Naaleh. We are an all-girls school with approximately 55 students per grade.  

In coordinating and overseeing the college application process, additional responsibilities include:

• ensuring that students satisfy college entrance exam requirements
• administering PSAT and pre-ACT tests
• guiding students and parents through the college application and admissions process
• establish and maintain strong relationships with college admissions directors
• writing personalized recommendation letters for all members of the senior class
• contacting college admissions offices and providing students with detailed information about the specific colleges they are considering
• arranging visits for the college reps to our campus
• reviewing student transcripts 
• assist students with writing their personal statements
• prepare students for their interviews
• support teachers as they write their teacher recommendation letters
• serve as the testing coordinator for all College Board-related tests.

The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills and be a team player, eager to develop relationships with students, parents and colleagues. 

In the upper grades, our College Guidance Counselor will oversee preparation of necessary college entrance documentation and ensure that our students are meeting all requirements to enter college - and Honors programs where applicable - upon graduating from high school, as well as meet with parents and students to review academic needs for college entrance.

Familiarity with Naviance or SCOR is a plus. Strong technological fluency is required.

Salary and benefits commensurate with the experience. $45,000 - $65,000 salary.
