We are seeking a dedicated paraprofessional to work with a young, disabled child in a classroom setting. The ideal candidate will fit all qualifications and be able to fulfill all responsibilities listed.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the teacher in implementing lesson plans and curriculum development specifically to the child.
- Provide support and assistance to the student with special needs in various subjects, including literacy education, math, and other areas as needed.
- Collaborate with the teacher to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for the student.
- Monitor and supervise the student during classroom activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Assist with behavior management strategies and implement individualized behavior plans, as well as ensuring that the student meets all goals set forth by their supervisor.
- Support the student in developing social skills and promoting independence.
- Assist with personal care tasks and other daily living activities.
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as speech therapists or occupational therapists, to implement specialized interventions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in education or related field preferred.
- Experience working with children or individuals with special needs is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff members.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively as part of a team.

Pay: $30 an hour, but we are willing to negotiate for the right candidate.
