Job Description

Location: Hybrid: Must reside in the DMV area (Washington D.C., VA or MD) or the Tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT USA)

Industry: Non-profit, International Relations, Fundraising, Strategic Partnerships

Position Type: Full-time/Contract

About Us: Agazian Media Foundation, Inc. is dedicated to independent journalism and advocacy, supporting the right to self-determination for the Tigrigna nation in Eritrea. Our mission includes reviving the ancient Tigrigna/Ge’ez Orit/Torah heritage, fostering Eritrean-American and Eritrean-Israeli relations, and promoting liberal democracy, human rights, decentralized governance, and economic opportunities for millions of young people in the Horn of Africa.

We work toward peaceful change and rapid economic development, focusing on urbanization, industrialization, digitalization, and environmental efforts such as combating desertification and promoting reforestation in Eritrea. The Tigrigna people are the only Black nation with deep roots in the Judeo-Christion civilization, practicing a unique blend of Judaism and Christianity. Predominantly residing in Eritrea and the Tigray region of Ethiopia, they have historically served as a strategic ally to major Western powers, including the Roman and Portuguese Empires.

Eritrea, located in the southern Red Sea near Yemen (approximately 800 miles from Israel), is one of the only non-Muslim, non-Arab majority states in the region. Despite lacking internal or external threats, Eritrea remains one of the most impoverished and isolated nations. Often referred to as the "North Korea of Africa," the country is cited by human rights organizations as one of the most oppressive regimes regarding press freedom and human rights violations.
