Collections Specialist

$35 - $40 per Hr.
Our client is seeking a Collections Specialist to join their team. The Collections Specialist will be responsible for handling overdue accounts, managing payment arrangements, and maintaining accurate collections records. This role is essential in helping to ensure timely payments and smooth financial operations. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, proactive in resolving billing issues, and experienced in collections, especially within healthcare or ABA services.
Responsibilities:
Contact clients and insurance companies to follow up on overdue accounts and collect outstanding payments.
Negotiate and establish payment plans when necessary to facilitate timely collections.
Maintain accurate and well-organized records of all collection activities, communications, and transactions.
Identify and resolve billing discrepancies in collaboration with the billing and finance teams.
Monitor account statuses to prevent delays and proactively address potential issues.
Prepare and submit appeals for denied claims, if necessary.
Ensure adherence to company policies, insurance regulations, and billing guidelines.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in collections, with a preference for experience in healthcare or ABA services.
Familiarity with medical billing procedures and coding, including CPT and ICD-10 codes, is a plus.
Knowledge of healthcare insurance regulations, including Medicaid and private insurance guidelines.
