Job Description

Walker Health Services is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the submission of invoices, processing claims, and ensuring accurate payment collection from both patients and insurance providers. This role requires strong attention to detail and expertise in medical billing processes to maximize reimbursement and maintain compliance with insurance guidelines.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Submit invoices to insurance providers, including Medicaid, Managed Care, and Private Insurance.
  • Process claims accurately and ensure timely reimbursement.
  • Identify and resolve claim denials to optimize revenue collection.
  • Post payments to the Accounts Receivable system and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Conduct regular audits to follow up on missed or unpaid claims.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems to access and update patient information.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the organization’s billing operations.


Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in medical billing.
  • Knowledge of insurance guidelines, claim processing, and reimbursement procedures.
  • Familiarity with medical coding systems (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in billing assignments.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with medical staff and insurance providers.
  • Experience with billing software (such as CollaborateMD) is preferred but not required.
