Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Claims Supervisor/Account Manager to oversee workers’ compensation claims in New York. This role involves supervising adjusters, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing client accounts for efficient claim resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise claims adjusters, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Oversee claims management operations and NY Workers’ Compensation regulations.
- Act as the primary client contact, providing updates and resolving issues.
- Analyze claims data to improve outcomes and reduce costs.
- Develop best practices for claims handling, from reporting to settlement.
- Approve claim reserves and settlements per company policies.
- Collaborate with internal teams on complex cases.
- Train staff on regulations and claims procedures.
- Provide reports on claims performance and trends.
- Handle escalated claims issues and maintain client relationships.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5-10 years in workers’ compensation claims; NY/NJ experience required.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Licensing: Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster license preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of NY Workers’ Compensation laws.
- Leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment
- Office-based with extended computer use.
- Some standing, walking, and lifting (up to 10 lbs.).
- On-call participation, including weekends/holidays, may be required.
