Tuition Associate/Legal Assistant Description—SINAI Schools
As the only Jewish Special Education school accredited by the prestigious Middle States Association of Primary and Secondary Schools, SINAI Schools is widely recognized as one of the country’s leading Jewish schools for children with disabilities and special needs. SINAI currently operates eight schools, including two elementary schools and four high schools in NJ and two elementary schools in NY, all of which are integrated within a regular education Jewish partner school.
The Tuition Associate/Legal Assistant will report to the Director of Tuition and Counsel. This is a full-time, and as of now, a hybrid position, requiring in-office work two (2) days per week.
A growing number of our students come to SINAI as unilateral placements under IDEA.
Duties & Responsibilities
Work with parents, their special education lawyers, and school staff
Draft documents and correspondence, including tuition contracts, tuition payment information, and student attendance
Draft and maintain resume and credentials of school staff, including tracking licensure verification
Collect resume and credentials and Sexual Misconduct/Child Abuse Disclosure Release forms as part of the onboarding process of new employees
Manage and file data, such as school applications, school consents, and other school records maintained by each school
Create and maintain student schedules in Excel
Generate/maintain data and reports/lists
Organize and maintain data related to EEO filings
Manage and organize documents in response to discovery and subpoena requests
Draft school contracts and manage/organize monthly invoicing and billing
Facilitate the meeting of deadlines by keeping multiple agendas and providing timely reminders to staff
Manage incoming/outgoing telephone calls, tracking messages as well as schedule and coordinate meetings
Perform general office work

Qualifications:
Law firm, Non-profit Foundation, or Government experience preferred
Legal secretary or paralegal certification or diploma, a plus
Excellent organization, writing and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail
Prior experience working with databases and/or Excel spreadsheets
Outstanding time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of work
Ability to work with numbers
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other staff members
Ability to work in a discreet manner, maintaining confidentiality
Required — proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word; Google Drive, including Google Docs, Sheets, Calendar
