Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Controller / CFO to join our team. As the Controller / CFO, you will oversee all financial aspects of our operations, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, effective budget management, and strategic financial planning. This role is pivotal in guiding our financial decisions and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including supervision of bookkeepers and accounting staff.
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing insights and recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency.
• Develop and manage property budgets in collaboration with property managers and stakeholders.
• Oversee loan and mortgage monitoring processes, ensuring compliance and timely reporting.
• Manage cash flow and forecasting, ensuring availability of funds as needed.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Coordinate audits and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Collaborate with other departments to support overall operational goals and strategic initiatives.
• Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations affecting real estate financial management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or MBA preferred.
• Proven experience as a Controller, CFO, or similar role in the real estate industry.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements for real estate entities.
• Experience with property budgeting, loan monitoring, and financial analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel , Appfolio , Yardi and or other property management softwares
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor and manage a team.
• Analytical mindset with a strategic vision for financial planning and decision-making.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
• Negotiate with vendors, banks, and other financial institutions
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Knowledge of technical accounting standards and regulations

Experience in cost management and financial report interpretation

Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable recommendations

Familiarity with managing financial concepts such as budgets, forecasts, and cash flows

Pay: $175,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
