About the Role: Role is $80 an hour.

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior SQL Developer for a 3 to 6 month contract engagement to support and enhance our core data infrastructure. This role will focus heavily on writing and optimizing stored procedures, performance tuning, indexing, and leading database cleanup efforts. You’ll work closely with our engineering and product teams to deliver reliable, efficient, and scalable SQL solutions in a mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Write, optimize, and maintain complex stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.

· Lead performance tuning efforts: analyze execution plans, optimize indexes, and improve query efficiency.

· Conduct database cleanup, removing legacy or redundant objects and improving schema structure.

· Collaborate with development teams to ensure tight alignment between application logic and database structure.

· Review and refactor existing SQL code to enhance clarity, consistency, and maintainability.

· Monitor database performance and implement improvements proactively.

· Document database structures, procedures, and optimization strategies for knowledge transfer.

Qualifications:

· 10+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Developer, ideally in high-performance or large-scale environments.

· Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, with strong proficiency in T-SQL.

· Extensive experience in stored procedure development, query optimization, and performance improvement.

· Proven success in database refactoring and cleanup initiatives.

· Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, especially related to query performance and data integrity.

· Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced contract setting.

· Experience in C# .NET is a plus.

Nice to Have:

· Familiarity with SQL Profiler, Extended Events, or other performance monitoring tools.

· Exposure to cloud-based databases (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS).

· Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control for SQL code.

· Familiarity with reporting platforms such as Power BI or SSRS.
