We are seeking an organized, compassionate, and experienced Centralized Intake Coordinator to join our Programming Department. This role is central to ensuring clients receive timely, appropriate, and coordinated mental health services across our agency.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, skilled in assessment and coordination, and passionate about guiding individuals and families toward the care they need.

Position Details

Title: Centralized Intake Coordinator
Department: Programming
Reports To: Intake Manager
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 35 hours per week
Status: Full-time preferred
Compensation: $60,000 annualized (hourly pay)
Location: Brooklyn
FLSA Status: Non-exempt

About the Role

The Centralized Intake Coordinator oversees intake and referral processes for incoming clients. This includes conducting assessments, coordinating services across multiple divisions, managing risk, and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and external partners.

This role requires both clinical insight and strong organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct intake and mental health assessments for incoming clients
Determine and coordinate appropriate internal and external referrals
Case manage clients through the intake process until admission to services
Administer risk assessments and provide crisis support when needed
Collaborate with all agency divisions to guide clients through services
Maintain detailed knowledge of all agency programs
Track services and report on required metrics
Participate in outreach meetings with mental health professionals and organizations
Support program quality assurance, documentation, and risk management
Attend weekly supervision and staff meetings
Engage with professionals, lay leaders, volunteers, and board members
Assist with intake-related events and initiatives
Perform additional duties as needed

Qualifications

Master’s degree in a mental health–related field preferred
Minimum of 3 years experience in social service intake and/or mental health settings preferred
SIFI certification a plus
Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate with professionals at all levels
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google applications
Ability to learn and use data tracking systems
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Familiarity with the Orthodox Jewish community preferred
